The Summer Surf Program is a fundraising and member development program that aims to engage surf lifesavers from across Queensland, and to develop their skills and experience for their future careers both within and outside the movement.  Every year, clubs are given the opportunity to nominate an entrant who will spend 9-12 months fundraising as an ambassador for surf lifesaving.

Throughout the year, the Summer Surf Program Ambassadors become the public face of Surf Life Saving to promote Surf Life Saving and the vital need for support and funds from communities across Queensland.

The program has been running annually since 1964 and, through its history, has raised more the $16.7 million for Surf Life Saving Clubs within Queensland. It has now developed into the largest and longest running annual club fundraiser and awareness program of its kind within Australia.  All funds raised are distributed back into participating clubs to be used in a variety of ways including purchase and maintenance of new rescue equipment, surf safety education, member development, increasing volunteer memberships and expanding training programs.

In 2017-18 we had four representatives in our region who raised over 40.10% of the State total.

To register to be your club’s NEXT Summer Surf Program Ambassador, or if you know of anyone who may be the perfect ambassador please encourage them to join your club and make a difference to the community.  The registration form and conditions of entry are available from the SLSQ Website.
