Junior Activities (commonly known as Nippers) is a fun activity that is available at every surf life saving club in Queensland.  Develop confidence, knowledge and skills in a beach environment.  Make friends and have fun, while staying fit and active!

When can I join: Nippers is open to children aged five to 13 years of age.  Please note, children must be able to pass the pool swim and timed survival float for their age group prior to commencing any junior activities.

Where do I join: You can find your nearest surf club online, in North Barrier Nippers is run at various surf clubs from Ingham in the north to Sarina in the south.  Sign on days are also run from August annually, where the clubs run information sessions and have a BBQ, so check out your local club!

What will I do there: Nippers take part in surf safety awareness, beach games and activities, wade races and more!

Can my family be involved too?: Absolutely!  This is a club that the whole family can become a part of.  Parents/guardians can be involved by becoming water safety officers, age managers, coaches, surf sport officials, as well as many other roles including helping setup/packdown, fundraising, running the BBQ or canteen, club photographer, uniform officer, and the list goes on.
